Chau-Lin Huang, Lieh-Tang Lin, Linda Lin, Greg Hoh, Susan Wu, Edison Chiu, Stella Chiu, Robert Chang, Francis, Lily Yang, and Lin Hwang.

 

B. Guests:

Mrs. Christine Liu (Conductor Chow), Mr. Liu, Mr. Milton Liu, Miss Liu,

Miss Liu¡¦s fiancé and his cousin.

 

The main theme of this meeting: Meeting with Dallas SeaSky Choir¡¦s new conductor, Mrs. Christine Liu and her son, Milton Liu who will be SeaSky Choir¡¦ assistant conductor.

 

A. Introducing:

 

1. Chau-Lin asked all the officers to introduce themselves to Conductor Chow one by one. Conductor Chow implied that this was a way to hear our members¡¦ voices.

 

2. Conductor Chow: Married. About 50 ¡V55 years of age. She has been in the States for more than 30 years. She has one son and one daughter. She has been conducting church¡¦s children choir for a long time. Very much involved in church activities and music events. She has vocal training background and conducting experience which is perfect for a choir. Besides musical background, she is also teaching Mandarin with interest in tones of the language. That¡¦s why her vowels and consonants are pronounced very precisely.

 

3. Conductor¡¦s son, Milton Liu: He started taking violin lessons at 6 and piano at 8 years old. Was in Navy Academy for some years. At present, he¡¦s taking choir conducting sessions from Conductor Ling. He sings too. He is a very talented young musician.

 

4. Mr. Liu, Conductor Chow¡¦s husband. He is a very good tenor. He will sing in our choir.

 

5. Miss Liu: Conductor Chow¡¦s daughter graduated from Georgia Tech University with a master degree in International Affair. She has musical background too. She¡¦s getting married in Sept. Congratulations!

 

What a musical family!

 

B. SeaSky Choir¡¦s possibility goals in consideration: Ever since the Dallas SeaSky choir¡¦s Premiere concerts this choir has been an eye catching group in Dallas or even in Texas:

 

  1. We might pursue to be a potential candidate for next year¡¦s International Choir Competition in Taiwan.

 

  1. Might be in a concert accompanied by the Dallas Asian Youth Orchestra in Myerson Concert Hall on 11/27/05.

 

  1. Might be giving performance with Conductor Ling¡¦s Choir in Vienna at X¡¦mas, 2005.

 

  1. As conductor Chow has very good relationship or connection with Beijing¡¦s Music society, we might have chance to give performance in Beijing.

 

  1. We might be invited to give concert in Houston.

 

C. Chau-Lin handed a list of selected song names to Conductor Chow.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 PM.
