Lu named new chief executive at Diodes

Jun 01, 2005 (Ventura County Star - Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News via
COMTEX) -- Semiconductor manufacturer Diodes Inc. announced a new president and
chief executive officer Tuesday.

Keh-Shew Lu, formerly of Texas Instruments Inc. and a Diodes Inc. board member
since 2001, today takes over as head of the Westlake Village company. He
replaces C.H. Chen, who has been the company's president and CEO since 2000.
Chen will continue to serve as board vice chairman.

The change in leadership brings in a new president with experience in working
with different semiconductor technology and expertise working in Asia. Diodes
Inc. operates four subsidiaries in mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Chen said the transition is important as the company focuses on growth.

"Moving into adjacent technologies such as analog and mixed-signal is critical
to becoming a total solutions provider for our global customers and an extension
of Diodes' long-term growth strategy," Chen said in a written statement.

The company manufactures discrete semiconductors, primarily for communications,
computing, consumer electronics, industrial and automotive markets. Discrete
semiconductors include diodes, which allow electrical current to flow in only
one direction. Mixed-signal devices help analog and digital signals communicate.

Diodes' products can be found in many devices, including MP3 players, GPS
systems for vehicles, laptops, cell phones, satellite radios and heating and
air-conditioning systems.

The company reported $185.7 million in sales in 2004.

Chen said Lu helped shape the development of different technologies at Texas
Instruments and should be able to move Diodes into higher-value products.

At Texas Instruments, Lu was senior vice president and general manager over the
company's analog, mixed-signal and logic products.

"I am very excited about what we can accomplish in the future as we continue to
move into adjacent technologies that will build on these strengths and enable us
to offer higher margin products," Lu said in a written statement.

Both Chen and Lu were at the Nasdaq Stock Market on Tuesday and could not be
reached for additional comment.

The company's board chairman, Raymond Soong, rang the opening bell in
celebration of Diodes' fifth anniversary listing on Nasdaq.

Diodes Inc. shares (Nasdaq: DIOD) fell 26 cents to $33.25 on Tuesday Home
